Starting rate of pay : $17.00 per hour
LYNC :
The Linking Youth to Natural Communities (LYNC) program serves court-involved youth and their families. The LYNC staff work with clients and families to make sustainable behavioral changes by providing an array of services such as case management, groups, basic needs support and educational / vocational support. The LYNC transportation case aide plays an integral part of the team in transporting clients, sometimes multiple at once, to their individual or group sessions. The transportation case aide reinforces skills while transporting youth, such as appropriate communication, time management and problem solving skills and reports any concerns back to the family advocate and / or to the program director. The transportation case aide is responsible for collaborating with their colleagues to organize all pickups and drop offs for the day to ensure clients arrive on time for sessions.
JOB SUMMARY
The Juvenile Transportation / Case Aide is responsible for providing transportation to youth to and from program as scheduled. Primarily travel based or picking up multiple youth within a common destination. The Juvenile Transportation / Case Aide provides feedback to supervisor(s) and staff regarding any problems or difficulties relating to youth transports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides transportation to primarily youth from program as per schedule.
- Engages youth while transporting.
- Attends trainings and meetings, as needed, to meet the requirements of the position.
- Maintains mileage log and all other required documentation.
- Reports vehicle problems to Property Management.
- Assists in weekly vehicle inspection and completion of forms.
- Reports any difficulties with youth while transporting to supervisor.
- Observes all traffic laws, safety regulations and safety procedures, i.e., safety belt use.
- Supervises behavior of youth while in the agency vehicle and immediately reports any incidents or disclosures.
- Engages in strength-based, culturally competent, trauma-informed and gender responsive interactions with youth and families.
- Upholds all program expectations.
- Promotes a safe, welcoming environment with a focus on risk reduction and positive behavior change.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness within the vehicle.
