SUMMARY OF POSITION
In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Human Resources Coordinator’s primary focus will be to support the Human Resources function so that it meets both the needs of the business and our employees. This role will act as a partner to provide innovative solutions to facilitate organizational growth by attending community events, job fairs, etc. In addition, this role will conduct new hire orientation and complete administrative duties for the human resources department to assist HR Generalists and CHRO with recruitment, maintaining employee records, working with Employee of the Month programs, and other duties and projects as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding: Support HR Generalists and hiring managers in staffing, sourcing and selection process as well as onboarding which includes new hire orientations, attending job fairs and community events, as well as participating in advisory boards. Maintain job postings across multiple platforms including internal website. Facilitate pre-employment screenings and background checks. Attend job fairs and community events.
- Engagement and Retention: Assist in creating, organizing, administering and maintaining employee engagement activities. Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations. Facilitate employee engagement and wellness platforms.
- Recording Keeping: Establish and maintain adequate personnel records for past and present employees. Assist in integration of files into HRIS systems and filing paperwork.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Licensure checks, STNA Registry, new hire reporting, etc.
- HR Policies/Procedures: Educate and uphold human resources plan, procedures and policies; assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; assist in preparation and maintenance of employee handbook, policies, procedures. Coordinate employee communication to promote employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives.
- Training: Assists in HR Training for organizational-wide supervisors and other HR related trainings and developmental programs
- Perform other related duties and required and assigned

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business with minor HR preferred
- Experience in a human resources/administrative position preferred
- Experience speaking in front of individuals in a group setting
- Must have valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Must be able to travel between locations (local).
- Preferred experience with Paycor Recruiting Software and Paycom HR systems.
- Must have effective communication including verbal, written, and presentation to varied audiences
- Must be technologically fluent, especially in Microsoft Officer products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to be flexible due to potential of unknowns and rapidly shifting priorities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and timely outcomes
- Good written and verbal communication skills; excellent human relations skills and good organizational skills.
- Familiarity with social media recruiting
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality
