What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Teacher (Upper Elementary) position at The Village School of North Bennington?
The Village School of North Bennington has an anticipated opening for a skilled and energetic Classroom Teacher (at the upper elementary level) for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will excel in maintaining a classroom of high standards for respect and student achievement, with a strong focus on both modeling and cultivating a growth mindset. The ability to work collaboratively with other faculty, support staff, administration, and interventionists to provide engaging and differentiated learning opportunities for all students is essential.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY DUTIES:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and assessments to meet the academic, developmental, and social needs of students
- Support the social-emotional needs of children, guided by the use of trauma-informed practices
- Monitor and guide classroom behavior in accordance with the VSNB Constitution: “Be Safe; Be Kind; Be Respectful; and Have Fun”
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Educational Support Team (EST) plans, and 504 plans for specific students, in conjunction with the Special Educator and Support Staff
- Demonstrate current best practices in teaching and learning within a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Work collaboratively with interventionists and the Special Educator to provide engaging and differentiated learning opportunities for all students
- Develop and maintain a relationship with each child that ensures the child knows they are cared for and valued
- Develop and maintain positive partnerships with families as an important aspect of ensuring students’ personal and educational growth
- Commit to ongoing professional development, continually learning and developing enhanced pedagogical skills
Salary : $40,000 - $70,000
