Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. Candidates seeking this position must have at least three years experience working in a veterinary clinic. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary team in delivering high-quality care to animals. The ideal candidate will have a, strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and providing necessary tools and equipment.
- Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and monitoring pets perioperatively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and preparing examination rooms.
- Handle animal care responsibilities including feeding, bathing, and exercising pets as needed.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing and performing basic diagnostic procedures.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments.
- Utilize veterinary terminology accurately in documentation and communication with the team.
Experience
- Experience with aseptic techniques, monitoring pets under anesthesia, X-ray procedure, placing IV catheters and collecting/running blood samples
- Experience with IDEXX and Cornerstone is a bonus.
