What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Specialist position at The Villages?
Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for applying principles of accounting to process, record and analyze accounting data and prepare various reports by performing position duties. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:
- Process renewals and maintain databases for all Permits and Licenses, including broker licenses, liquor licenses, pool permits, food permits, etc.
- Process accounts receivable, including monthly billings, deposits, and journal entries for internal and external customers, for several different entities.
- Process registration renewals, vehicle sales and purchases, handle title issues and maintain control spreadsheet for approximately one hundred (100) company vehicles.
- Daily data verification and reconciliation of cash deposits, including processing journal entries, maintain monthly control logs and attachments.
- Work with managers to resolve cash management discrepancies.
- Calculate monthly tax for Solid Waste & Surcharge Return for FDOR, for golf car batteries and tires.
- Monthly review of Waste Management property owner’s data to identify changes in ownership for billing consideration.
- Process and allocate selected vendor invoices to proper departments.
- Track company SunPass transponders and process related monthly invoice.
- Process funds for Cash Closings.
- Daily deposits and posting of deposits to correct companies, division, and departments.
- Daily Bank Reconciliations.
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts.
- Assist anyone in the department if time and expertise is available
- All other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two (2) year college or technical school; or one (1) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate experience and proficiency with Excel required.
- Basic accounting and general ledger knowledge required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience of analysis of accounting data required.
- Ability to work on confidential matters required.
