Within the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", this position brings to life the variety of new homes found on the market for sale within The Villages today; using design expertise to enhance overall home quality and aesthetics. Experiences the joys of taking a home design concept through to completion, turning artist renderings into reality. This position primarily focuses on designing the look, feel and layout of the home from the inside out; determining key elements such as colors, lighting, accoutrements, and materials used. This position includes reading floorplans, blueprints, CADD drawings, and abide by building codes and regulations in preparation for construction. This role selects and documents home specifications; reviewing final engineer drawings and walking homes to ensure design accuracy. This position requires close partnership with leadership and collaboration with other departments and entities to ensure quality homes are built that exceed customers’ expectations. Knowledge, attention to detail, project management skills, and design capabilities allow the person in this position to personally design homes for future homeowners in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown! These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities
- Uses The Villages design standards and guidelines to create and design newly constructed homes to appropriate specifications for construction.
- Plans, selects, and coordinates homes and neighborhoods that integrate home environment, quality, and overarching aesthetics.
- Evaluates appropriate home and drive location(s) per a given home site.
- Selects and documents home selections using applicable software and computer programs (Excel, Outlook, I-Series, etc.).
- Reviews final home specifications and engineer drawings - room by room.
- Walks each home at framing/cabinet/finish to check for and ensure accuracy.
- Updates and maintains work related materials and knowledge to include (but not limited to): product knowledge, technology updates, newly constructed home inventory and Vmail content.
- Collaborates with other departments and entities (Home Design Team, Agewave, Construction, Sales, etc.) for input and to maintain open channels of communication.
- Monitors data to include (but not limited to): what sells, product improvements, product updates and changes.
- Responds to incoming inquiries from Sales Representative and their Assistants through phone and email correspondence.
- Attends special meetings, educational sessions and assists leadership in ongoing training of new team members as requested.
- Utilizes office computer and office equipment (copier, fax, etc.) along with a host of other software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, I-series, Sisense, MS Query and SQL and subsequent project management and related technology tools as applicable.
- Assists Home Designer Team in their overall initiatives as requested.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two (2) year College or technical school preferred; or two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in design, construction or related fields preferred.
- Requires strong project management and organizational skills – paying great attention to detail.
- Excellent computer and communications skills are needed – along with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively; with the capacity to see a detailed process from start to finish.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft family (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
