Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for playing a vital role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing The Villages’s online web presence. Working with the Digital Leadership Team, this position is responsible for ensuring that a website's content is up to date, accurate, and user-friendly, thus contributing to a positive user experience. This role collaborates with various departments to publish, organize, and optimize digital content, helping The Villages and its businesses achieve its online objectives. This role requires strong technical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a keen understanding of web content management systems and best practices. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and publish website content across multiple websites using content management systems (CMS) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Review and proofread web content to ensure it is error-free, current, and meets content standards, including grammar, spelling, and formatting.
  • Collaborate with digital marketing teams and SEO Analyst to optimize web content for search engines (SEO) by incorporating relevant keywords and improving the site's ranking.
  • Regularly update and refresh website content, including text, images, videos, and downloadable resources, to keep the site relevant and engaging.
  • Focus on improving the overall user experience by ensuring that content is organized logically and easy to navigate.
  • Upload, format, and maintain multimedia elements such as images, videos, and interactive features on the website.
  • Work closely with marketing, design, and IT teams to coordinate web content changes, enhancements, and updates.
  • Monitor website traffic, user engagement, and other relevant metrics to identify areas for improvement and track the effectiveness of content strategies.
  • Maintain website security by applying updates, patches, and security protocols to protect against vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure web content adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, including copyright, accessibility, and privacy standards.
  • Develop training materials and documentation for end-users and content contributors to ensure consistent content management practices.
  • Resolve technical issues related to content publication, display, and functionality in collaboration with IT support.
  • Communicate with various account managers and stakeholders to understand their content needs and align website content with business goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as web development, digital marketing, or communications plus eight (8) years of experience.
  • Proven experience with web content management systems (WordPress, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic image editing software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of web security best practices is a plus.
  • Continuous learning and adaptability to evolving web technologies and trends.
