Position Summary:
The Dining Associate provides exceptional service to residents in a timely, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner with a sincerely pleasant and professional demeanor. He or she performs a variety of duties related to meal service, including greeting residents, taking orders, stocking, cleaning, and catering. In addition, the Dining Associate must be aware of all dietary needs or restrictions of each resident and must always follow proper sanitation standards and keep his or her work area clean and sanitary.
Primary Responsibilities:
Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.
Sets tables before meals
Greets all residents in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
Busses and resets tables in the dining area following meals
Restocks dining room tables with condiments
Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintain high levels of productivity without direct supervision.
Detail oriented
Able to work in a team environment, take direction and adhere to the Mission/Vision/Values of the community
Physical Job Requirements:
To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods of time. Proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the facility must be used.
In a typical twelve-hour day, employee will:
- Stand/walk up to eight hours a day
- Sit up to one hour a day
- Frequently support up to 30 pounds
- Frequently kneel, bend, lift and reach
Knowledge Requirements:
State and local food handling and kitchen regulations
OSHA Standards
Fire and Safety Procedures.
Knowledge of residents' food preferences
Qualifications:
- Experience in dining room setting preferred
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent related experience
- Desire to work with older adults
Job Types: Full-time, PRN
