As the Sales Manager at The Virginian Hotel, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue by building and nurturing existing client relationships within the corporate, association, and government sectors. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will collaborate closely with our dynamic team, including our social Sales Manager and Sales Coordinator to achieve shared goals and deliver outstanding results. Together, our team works seamlessly to position The Virginian Hotel as the top choice for professional gatherings, conferences, and events in the region. You will combine your passion for hospitality, strategic thinking, and results-driven approach to help elevate our brand and create unforgettable experiences for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Revenue Generation:
· Identify and target prospective clients within the corporate, association, and government sectors.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, meeting planners, and procurement professionals.
· Create customized proposals and presentations to position The Virginian Hotel as the ideal venue for business events, conferences, and government meetings.
Event Planning and Execution:
· Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and event requirements, ensuring flawless execution.
· Work closely with the operations teams to coordinate and deliver outstanding services for both events and group room blocks.
· Provide on-site support during major events to ensure client satisfaction and address any needs in real time.
Market Research and Trend Analysis:
· Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging market demands within the corporate, association, and government segments.
· Proactively develop innovative ideas and packages to attract and retain clients.
Networking and Relationship Building:
· Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote The Virginian Hotel and establish valuable connections.
· Build partnerships with local businesses, vendors, Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, and government agencies.
Qualifications:
· An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
· A minimum of 2-3 years in sales or hospitality, with a focus on catering sales, is ideal.
· Strong understanding of event planning and execution.
· Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of local business trends and key industry players is a plus.
