Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate
Reporting into Title: Shipping & Receiving Manager
Position Purpose/Summary: Primary function of this position is to provide shipping and receiving support to manufacturing, planning, and quality and warehouse operations.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.
- Prepare shipping documents, receiving documents and contracts.
- Inform customers by mail or telephone confirmation numbers for delivery’s and shipments, shipping and receiving dates, and any anticipated delays.
- Maintain shipping and receiving dock schedules.
- Learn and stay in compliance with protocols and SOP’s.
- Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate to the Shipping-Receiving Manager all or any issues found in the Shipping-Receiving office.
- Analyze and resolve, or assist workers in solving daily work problems
- Performing day-to-day tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Processing Information — compiling, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
- Documenting/Recording Information — entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
- File copies of orders received, shipments and post orders on records.
- Maintain communication with planners and customers.
- Learning and using customer’s databases – SAP and Digital Supplier.
- Small pack shipments UPS, FedEx.
- Expected to be exposed to/trained in handling hazardous materials with annual refresher training.
- Maintain dock/door status: Communicate w /VPL drivers.

Qualifications
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities
Education:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Strong Mathematical abilities
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a Warehouse environment.
Technology/Software:
- Strong Microsoft Office Proficiency: Word and Excel
- Shipping software experience strongly preferred
Communication:
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must have ability to work well under pressure.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Physical Capabilities
Strength: Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.
Movement: Must be able to stand / walk for an entire eight hour shift. Occasional bending, crouching, and crawling
Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly
