General Overview
JOB SUMMARY
The Laboratory Analyst provides analytical support to the team via processing the samples, entering sample information and results into the database and testing of petrochemical products in the Lube Oil department. He/she ensures that all sample analyses adhere to strict standard operating and calibration procedures used in the laboratory. The training for these analyses has been provided to them. The technician performs calibrations and preventative maintenance on existing laboratory equipment, and verifies operating efficiencies through established methods and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for analysis and reporting of various products such as crude oil, fuel oils, middle distillates, petroleum and petrochemicals, LPG & LNG gases, etc.
Job Functions
- Responsible for all Laboratory analysis (hands-on working on the Bench).
- Understand and keep current with all Laboratory safety and reporting techniques.
- Provide guidance to Laboratory Technicians to maintain proper level of training among Laboratory personnel, which can include supervisory duties.
- Understand and keep current with all Laboratory analysis methods.
- Responsible for the operation of Gas Chromatograph and other Laboratory equipment.
- Position requires a dependable and reliable individual whose daily presence adds to the success of the Department.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge of the following is a Plus:
- Flash and fire point
- Kinematic viscosity
- Density,relative density,or API gravity of petroleum products
- Colour using lovibond colourimeter
- Water in petroleum products
- Foaming characteristic of lubricating oil
- Copper strip tarnish test
- pH and Conductivity meters.
- Dropping point of lubricating grease
- Ash from petroleum products
- TAN and TBN of lubricating oil by potentiometric titration
- TAN and TBN by color-indicator titration
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Experience:
- Chemistry: 1 year (Preferred)
