Leads all operational and strategic aspects of our Sheboygan Manufacturing facility. Accountable for activities including Safety Management, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and People Leadership. Understands and demonstrates KPI development and visualization with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Major functional Areas Include:
- Leadership: Foster a culture prioritizing team safety and success, driving decision-making aligned with company values and challenging the status quo. Engage at all levels as the face of the Sheboygan operation.
- Safety: Ensure a safe workplace, adhering to regulations and Vollrath standards. Hold everyone accountable to high safety expectations.
- Quality: Maintain quality systems in compliance with Vollrath procedures for all products and materials.
- Production Management: Meet delivery standards through efficient, flexible operations. Optimize resource utilization and minimize lead times to handle business demands cost-effectively.
- Financial Performance: Set and achieve annual financial goals. Drive cost reduction programs for labor, materials, and inventory without compromising quality or delivery.
- Resource Management: Inspire discretionary effort through an engaging environment. Align individual goals with corporate strategies and measure performance accordingly.
- Teamwork: Actively collaborate with other Vollrath manufacturing plants as a supplier and partner, contributing to enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.
Direct Reports – Production Managers, Quality Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Manager.
Indirect Reports – Manufacturing and Quality Engineers, Materials Planning and Scheduling, Operations and Maintenance Supervisors, 250 Indirect Manufacturing – Union & Skilled Trades Associates.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience with increasing decision-making responsibilities in a Manufacturing environment.
- Requires education equivalent of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Fine Arts/Industrial Design, Materials or Production Management from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred education equivalent of Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Materials or Production Management from an accredited college or university.
- Specialties include general engineering, creative design, materials and manufacturing, Budgeting, and business finance.
- Proficiency in Lean manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, and Structured Problem Solving (Six Sigma preferred).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and ERP systems, with JDE experience preferred.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen, leadership, creativity, client focus, decision-making, delegation, integrity, trust, fairness, and compassion.
- Capable of motivating and guiding teams, problem-solving, prioritizing tasks, building effective teams, and communicating across all organizational levels.
- Able to perform responsibilities independently while aligning with company policies and objectives.
