Summary/Objective:
Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Administrator, the Maintenance Worker performs work of routine maintenance and repairs at all facilities operated by The Voyage Senior Living. Indirect supervision may be provided at individual sites when necessary.

- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of all facilities, inside and out including but not limited to:
- Routine maintenance on building interiors and exteriors including washing the outside and windows
- Sweep all outside walks, parking areas and driveways, pick up trash around entrances and on grounds, shake out mats inside and out, inspects and clean all patios
- Take out trash, including outside trash/cigarette receptacles, break down boxes and place them in the dumpster
- Clean and maintain orderliness of storage areas (basements, sheds and buildings). Put supplies away in the kitchen on delivery day.
- Maintain company vehicles and run errands accordingly
- Clean the public restroom’s tiles, floors and grout
- Deliver supplies, equipment, mail, etc., to other sites and place them in the appropriate storage areas
- Perform ice and snow removal duties during bad weather. Spread salt and clear snow/ice from the walks prior to the arrival of staff.
- Assist housekeeping in removing trash and storage of supplies
- Maintain a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due. Communicate this information, along with any major needs, to Maintenance Supervisor on a regular basis. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor when repairs are needed or emergencies occur that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
- Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations. Take appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in each facility.

Physical Demands and Expectations:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· The employee is regularly required to talk and hear
· The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day
· The employee must be able to drive and operate machinery, i.e. weed eater, power tools and mowers
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
· The employee must be able to perform carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs
· Must have dependable transportation, a valid Illinois Driver’s License and State required liability insurance on a personal vehicle
· May be required to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings or weekends and early morning hours. May be required to respond to emergency needs outside of normal working hours.
· Appropriate documentation indicating absence of infectious/communicable diseases, e.g. TB and Hepatitis may be required
· Position is subject to a criminal background check
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Previous years of experience in a similar position preferred
· Experience in performing electrical and plumbing procedures preferred
