Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cost management strategies and plans to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Prepare detailed cost forecasts and budget reports, analyzing variances and identifying trends to support financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to estimate project costs, including materials, labor, and overheads, at various stages of the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors to secure the best possible prices and terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor project expenditures, identifying and addressing any issues that could lead to budget overruns.
- Lead or participate in cost review meetings with the project manager and project team.
- Perform risk analysis to assess potential financial impacts, developing strategies to mitigate cost-related risks.
- Review and approve invoices and claims from suppliers and contractors, ensuring all charges are accurate and justified.
- Conduct post-project financial audits to assess cost management performance, identifying lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project/ construction management, or a related field required.
- 8 years’ experience in project controls, cost control, or a similar role required.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in project management methodologies, schedule and cost control tools, and software required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability coupled with the ability to work as part of a fast-paced team required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities required.
