Overview
Walsh is currently seeking an Electrical Estimator for our East Federal Building Division located in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Electrical Estimator will prepare estimates for mechanical & electrical work (Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC, and Building Automation Systems) for large Federal Building projects.

Responsibilities
- Specification and project drawing review and analysis.
- Quantity takeoff and pricing of labor, materials, and equipment for comprehensive bid or budget proposals.
- Evaluate and compare self-perform pricing versus subcontractor quotations.
- Evaluate material quotations for compliance to specifications.
- Develop cost savings strategies towards execution of the work.
- Presentation and substantiation of estimates internally and/or externally with clients, design engineers, or venture partners.
- Assist Chief/Lead estimators with preparation of all documentation of full bid solicitation and pricing proposal.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related
- 5 years previous experience in construction project management or construction estimating
- Able to work independently without much supervision and be able to work well with a team of estimators.
- Understanding of all applicable estimating softwares.
- Identifies and understands differences in subcontractor quotations.
- Accurately estimate time required to complete actions and activities.
- Accurately interprets written information associated with projects.
