Lucasfilm Online is the central hub and its members are the resident experts in the Lucasfilm portfolio of brands from the digital perspective. We are the first line of defense regarding content ideas, brand strategy, content creation and partnership on behalf of Lucasfilm and Disney Studio Marketing. Our team is composed of 3 key groups focusing on Strategy & Planning (Social & Editorial), Content (Digital Content), and Platform Operations (Program Management).
This department is the foundational social & digital infrastructure responsible for programming, analyzing, maintaining, publishing, producing and ultimately growing audiences across all digital platforms for Lucasfilm, Star Wars, and their respective franchises/businesses. We support an evolving multiplatform and multi-vertical franchise business with tentpole events throughout the year.
The Associate Producer works as the backbone of the Digital Content team to ensure content and productions are staying on track and operating in an organized and efficient manner. While the focus of this role is geared towards production management, the role also has autonomy to be involved in every part of production from pre-to-post as time allows.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and track all productions and digital content between Social, Editorial, and Site within AirTable and the Google Suite
- Run meetings, handle production schedules, and timelines
- Develop and approve the creation of all agreements including but not limited to: Vendor, Performer, Crew, & Location agreement
- Schedule and facilitate kick-off meetings with Legal to flag and problem-solve any potential issues with productions
- Pull cost reports to document and track the content department budget
- Assist with identification and purchasing of all supplies, props needed, and equipment for productions
- Manage all processes for: PO creation, invoice payment, W-9 and vendor tax forms, P-card payments and reporting
- Develop freelancer new hire onboarding and payroll forms
- Facilitate assets from internal lines of business and manage formatting, distributing, scheduling
- Assist in set prep/shoot/strike, including ad hoc production support such as: wardrobe, prop-making, catering, monitor cameras/audio/lighting during shoots, offer directorial/script suggestions and problem-solving during shoots, and a very occasional on-camera appearance
- Ingest and organize footage from various production shoots
- Basic knowledge of video editing to help alleviate work from editing team when needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field or equivalent work experience required
- 5 years work experience in digital and social production with a very strong solid understanding of production and terminology
- Resourceful self-starter that quickly picks up current methods of production while identifying ways in which those processes can be improved with little oversight
- Highly communicable and able to work cross-functionally. Able to understand key players and foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders / external partners
- Deep knowledge of project management tools, including Airtable and the Google Suite, understanding backend processes with scripts and automation.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro: editing, sound design, color correction and a working knowledge of Adobe After Effects / Photoshop
- Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects, work with diverse personalities, and work under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience working for a global brand/franchise
- Extensive knowledge of all things Star Wars
The hiring range for this position in California is $76,600 to $102,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
