The Marketing Support Specialist is responsible for providing assistance in the marketing arena to ensure the objectives of the marketing, assortment, pricing, sales, and training plans are met through updates and maintenance of customer contracts, assisting in the creation of promotions, data management, scheduling of marketing events and through appropriate branch and customer communications.
Essential Job Function
- Responsible for assigned areas including but not limited to e-commerce, technology, programs and promotions, event coordination, training promotion and support, internal and external communications, digital marketing, and merchandising.
- Coordinates promotional product needs with Category and Product Managers, Inventory Management and Purchasing Groups. Works closely with subject matter experts across the company o support marketing, sales, and promotional needs.
- Assists in the creation of promotional pieces in a variety of formats in support of marketing programs consistent with company sales, marketing, and other initiatives.
- Assists in the development of the Social Media strategy and maintains Social Media content.
- Manages intranet application, design, and maintenance. Ensures content is updated and works with assigned department personnel to facilitate and administer intranet and other company communication platforms.
- Tracks all promotions on Marketing calendar and tracks and supports all Marketing communications.
- Assists in website design and updates, providing and curating content as assigned.
- Creates or assists in creation of video content to support promotions, training, etc.
- Updates Digital Marketing Content for Branches through supported mediums and platforms.
- Organizes promotional events as assigned such as Training and Counter Days.
- Organizes, coordinates, and supports all facets of event planning including Open Houses, Dealer Conferences, and meetings.
- Designs, updates, and distributes Weekly Wire and Content and other Marketing related messaging.
- Plans, designs, distributes, and manages eBlast, Constant Contact Emails, and other external communications.
- Renders SEO reviews.
- Serves as liaison for assigned platforms such as ZOHO CRM Marketing Campaigns, calendars, and content.
- Greets and assists visitors and executive staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned for the smooth and efficient operation of the company.

Internal Relationships
Interfaces, confers, and communicates daily with supervisor, Category and Product Managers, Product Specialists, Directors, Purchasing, and Regional, Account and Branch Managers pertaining to marketing, contractor training, and scheduling objectives.
External Relationships
Interfaces and communicates with relevant Johnstone Supply representatives. Interfaces and communicates with customers across all Branch Locations. Interfaces and communicates with outside agencies.
Final Decision Maker
Decision making is limited to the scope and breadth of individual responsibilities based on standard operating procedures within the department. Changes to standardized procedures, pricing, promotional information must first be approved by the marketing department management.

Typical office environment with standard working conditions at Branch Support Offices that requires standing, walking and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Visual acuity required for reading, producing reports, or doing computer work for extended periods of time. Limited, but some physical exertion and dexterity required in the course of daily activity that may require the ability to climb stairs, walking from place to place in a standard office environment, occasionally lifting or carrying supplies, books, etc. Auditory acuteness required to perform heavy volume of telephone and personal contacts on an individual, or group meeting level. Minimal travel of less than 10% expected.
