Job Description
The Washington Post is seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a critical member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical equipment that keeps our printing plant running effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and associated lines used in the distribution of steam and heated/chilled water.
- Manage refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves, and float valves, as well as refrigerant lines and temperature control devices.
- Ensure the proper operation of pumps, secondary refrigerating liquids, valves, appurtenances, and lines used in the system.
- Repair air compressors, distribution lines, valves, and air control devices.
- Operate, maintain, and repair natural and manufactured gas distribution lines, including valves and control devices.
- Manage water filters, softeners, piping, and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution, including sinks, toilet bowls, supply lines, drains, and water lines.
- Operate, maintain, and repair electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, and fans.
- Ensure the proper operation of fuel oil systems, including pumps, valves, lines, controls, and fuel tanks.
- Manage sanitary sewer systems, including sump pumps, basins, water closets, urinals, toilets, and piping.
- Maintain and repair trash compactors, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain kitchen equipment.
- Manage electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for building lighting, mechanical, plumbing, and control components, including lighting maintenance.
- Recalibrate controls based on seasonal conditions to ensure energy-efficient operation.
- Maintain equipment according to the Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Maintain life safety and security systems.
- Perform other duties as requested by building management.
Compensation and Benefits:
The Washington Post offers comprehensive benefits to support your career and personal growth. Our competitive salary range for this position is $55,900.00 - $83,900.00 USD Annual.
