What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Supply Clerk position at The Waterford Care Center?
The Waterford Care Center is seeking a Central Supply Clerk to join their team! The Central Supply Clerk orders, stocks, inventories all purchases of nursing supplies in the facility. To always keep the facility in compliance with government agencies.
Central Supply Clerk Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the floors/units are stocked according to their needs.
- Maintains a process of monitoring all items that have an expiration date and follow the facility/manufacturer guidelines.
- Labels all supplies according to Facility protocols.
- Utilizes all facility logs/tools pertaining to this position.
- Keeps equipment log, as requested.
- Manages the replacement of concentrators via approved vendors.
- Confers with and reports to Administrator on a regular basis or as particular situations. require. Prepares and plans department budget for equipment and supplies and submits to Administrator for review, recommendation, and approval. Seeks methods to control costs.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Central Supply Clerk Qualifications and Skills:
- Has an understanding of nursing supplies and residents needs pertaining to supply and equipment.
- Understands budgets and purchasing guidelines.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
Central Supply Clerk Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience as a supply clerk in a long-term care facility a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
