What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Assistant position at The Waterford Care Center?
The Waterford Care Center is seeking a Resident Assistant to join their team! The Resident Assistant assists in providing exceptional customer service to our residents, performing non-medical assistance.
Resident Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and maintain positive, friendly relationships with all residents
- Assist in-room residents by visiting with them, writing letters, running errands, and perform assistance with crafts, projects, etc., as necessary.
- Ensure that rooms are prepared for the arrival of new residents.
- Assist with the distribution of food trays to residents.
- Manage, maintain, and organize resident property in accordance with polices and standards.
- Help organize and put away resident laundry.
- Answer call-lights, and get appropriate staff to help resident if needed.
- Address any concerns that residents may have with appropriate department heads and leadership.
- Bring residents to assigned areas throughout the facility as needed
- Make beds, and straighten up rooms.
- All other duties as assigned.
Resident Assistant Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- The ability to serve our residents in a manner that makes them feel valued.
- A passion for the elderly and other residents in our care.
Resident Assistant Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Must enroll in a certified nursing certificate program within 3-6 months of employment.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
- Ability to push a wheelchair weighing up to 300 lbs.
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
- Meet all health requirements as needed.
