Organizational Structure
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Engineering
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that his work is done in accordance with relevant codes.
- Is responsible for installing electrical control systems.
- Is responsible to make sure that everything is installed in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to the general public or any individual.
- Assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. When the work has been completed the Electrician then must inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Experience and Requirements
- Must have 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of commercial electrical systems preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Must have strong knowledge of testing equipment such as an ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter and testing lamp.
- Must be able to read blue prints and understand the operation of main switchgear, distribution systems and emergency transfer switches.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Must be able to work as a team player to accomplish the goals of the Engineering Department.
