Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, friendly and responsible Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for helping prepare meals and snacks for our residents. This role is essential in following established guidelines for kitchen safety and procedures, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, local government and agency expectations, and coordinating all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education and counseling of patients and outpatients.
Duties
- Participate in food preparation, cooking, baking, and applying a solid understanding of allergies regarding food and health protocols.
- Monitor food safety and sanitation procedures, purchase goods and supplies, and stock inventory.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and inform the Center Director when additional support is needed.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and surfaces.
- Restock supplies and equipment as needed.
- Support other kitchen staff in maintaining a smooth and efficient operation
Skills:
- Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
- Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
- Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs
- The Kitchen Assistant cleans and sanitizes dinnerware and kitchenware. Empties and cleans department trash containers and maintains all floors. Cleans as required to maintain department sanitation standards for public and department areas.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
