A few highlights about the role....
The Nurse Manager provides professional care to clients within the scope of our program and oversees the performance of other Nursing staff. Supports medical and clinical team to provide a consistently high level of medical care within an in-patient mental health program. Performs nursing duties and acts as a medical resource and support as needed. Supports the medical and clinical team to provide a safe and stable environment for clients that are in our treatment program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Collaborate with the Medical Director and the APRN to admit clients to our facility.
● Ensure screenings for nutrition and other items are done timely/
● Create the schedule for Staff to ensure 24/7 coverage of Nursing. Utilize PRN to fill holes as needed and communicate with them to ensure coverage.
● Write, Edit and Maintain Nursing policy for the Nursing Division. Ensure policy edits are approved by the Center leader.
● Collaborate with the RTF Manager on performance management and coaching. Deliver feedback, performance improvement recommendations and other measures of performance management. May deliver performance reviews as available.
● Review overall department performance in relation to charting and Nursing function
● Order medical supplies as needed.
● Participate in committees such as QI, Infection Control and other Nursing related committees. May be asked to update plans and provide advice to RTF manager.
● Other Management duties as needed.
Nursing Duties
● Coordinates Client Care: Performs nursing assessment, focusing on physical, emotional, and cognitive status. Able to identify discharge planning needs.
● Understands patients physical problems and refers to appropriate medical care.
● Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity towards client/family rights and patient confidentiality, as related to the population.
● Maintains contact with, and provides information about changes in condition, lab results and proposed medication changes to others involved in care of the patient.
● Administers and Monitors Medications: Follows policies and procedures for medication management.
● Conducts patient education sessions with an emphasis on understanding and complying with medication orders.
● Responds to identified client/family learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet them.
● Performs documentation duties on the unit and in patient record, which is timely, accurate and concise.
● Attends treatment team meetings as needed to discuss medications, laboratory results, physical complaints of patients and physical conditions.
● Conducts group sessions to include symptom management, health and nutrition, and medication management.
● Works in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to motivate the clients to maintain attendance in order to progress towards positive treatment outcomes.
● Maintains Safety: Performs efficiently in emergency client situations, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons and documenting events.
● Supports the WST function and serves as a resource to that team. Works collaboratively to achieve shift goals.
● Able to react to change productively.
● Handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Salary : $75 - $80
