Job Title : Director of Instrumental Music Department : Fine Arts
Reports to : Fine Arts Department Chair
Status : Part-Time, Salaried / Exempt, Non-Benefited, Faculty
SUMMARY
The Webb Schools is accepting applications for a part-time Director of Instrumental Music for the 2025-2026 school year. The Director of Instrumental music teaches and leads the Webb Sinfonia, which is composed of String, Wind, and Percussion students. Responsibilities include teaching the wind / string sinfonia class, choosing repertoire and rehearsing for the Winter and Spring concerts, coordinating musicians for the Chapel program, arranging field trips and guest artists, and overseeing the artistic life of our student musicians. In addition, faculty members are expected to contribute positively and productively to support an inclusive campus community that promotes the development of honor, leadership, and character and which strives to cultivate a sense of belonging for all.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Teach instrumental music and lead the Webb Sinfonia
- In collaboration with the Director of Community & Culture and choral music director, select repertoire for concerts
- Organize music and musicians for the Chapel program
- Be available for special events, such as performances, concerts, and rehearsals.
- Transcribing parts for non-standard instrumental combinations may be required, depending upon enrollment
- Collaborate with Fine Arts Department Chair in developing the program
- Promote the development of honor, character, and leadership in all dealings with students, including enforcing school rules and ensuring all students feel safe and welcome in their campus homes
- Perform other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES OF WEBB FACULTY & STAFF
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree with a major in music is required, Master’s degree a plus. High school or
college teaching and conducting experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
A valid California Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required. A criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can begin.

COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY
Anticipated salary : $42,000
This position is for the current 2025-2026 academic year.
