Estimating Intern - Summer 2025

The Weitz Company is hiring an Estimating Intern to join our Des Moines office for the 2025 summer. Interns receive hands-on work experience, while working alongside our team of talented professionals. It is important to us to ensure our students are successful, and we work hard to ensure each intern walks away with tangible experience.

Specializing in markets such as data centers, aviation, industrial manufacturing, commercial construction, and more, you will be exposed to a wide variety of marketing techniques and strategies. What You’ll Do:

• Quantity takeoff
• Subcontractor and vendor outreach for pricing
• Learn and assist with a variety of estimating tasks to support the estimating team

What We're Looking For:

• Education:
  • Currently obtaining a college degree in construction-related field
• Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and organized
  • Strong time management skills
  • Desire to learn
• Technology:
  • Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft systems
  • Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
