What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Engineer position at The Weitz Company?
EPI Power is hiring a Procurement Engineer. The Procurement Engineer is responsible for overseeing the purchasing of materials for an assigned construction project site(s). This role orders materials and services, monitors delivery status, and facilitates communication between the project team and suppliers.
This role requires the ability to work 6 days per week, typically Monday – Saturday.

What You’ll Do :
- Initiate and manage purchase orders, evaluate project schedule, and align delivery of materials accordingly
- Participate in the specification review, bid preparation, submittal review, and quote solicitation process to include developing supplier work statements, soliciting proposals, and negotiating costs
- Collaborate with logistics team members to ensure timely arrival of materials
- Track incorrect or late orders and expedite as needed
- Resolve payment and / or material discrepancies; track and obtain refund if necessary
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract obligations are met; identify new suppliers as needed
- Issue and maintain department reports
- Assist with material inspection, factory testing, and coordination of meetings
