Job Summary
The WellPet Group is a privately owned veterinary hospital with family roots and community involvement. Our primary aim is preventative care--we are looking for someone to help our team continue to grow and improve! We hope to add an enthusiastic and communication oriented doctor to our staff. Looking to grow? We are happy to assist in continuing education for areas of interest that can offer new or improved services to our patients (including continuing education or courses on Orthopedic surgeries, Exotics, Urgent/Emergency care, Acupuncture, etc.)
Hospital amenities include:
- Full Heska in- house lab
-Ultrasound with color doppler
- Digital radiographs (with send out to radiologist soon to be included)
-Dental radiographs
- Endoscopy unit
- 4 large examination rooms
- 1 large OR suite (with Ligasure coming soon!)
- Scribenote for each room
(While our WellPet Members and regular pet owner enjoy after hours on-call, this would be optional for any candidate.)
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health status.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries, developing appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as per veterinary protocols.
- Provide guidance on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general pet care to pet owners.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients treated.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including spaying, neutering, and other necessary operations. (OPTIONAL)
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state veterinary license to practice.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior.
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including restraint methods for various species.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Monthly in hours all staff meeting to aid in hospital efficiency, work-flow, and address on-going areas of improvement.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 36 per week
