Job Summary:
We are seeking reliable and experienced Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers, including individuals with special needs, to medical appointments and other destinations safely and on time. While certifications are not required, they are highly beneficial. If you have a valid driver's license, a passion for helping others, and enjoy being on the road, we want to hear from you.
Duties:
- Safely transport passengers to medical facilities, appointments, and other locations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, including those with mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers.
- Follow all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness.
- Maintain accurate trip logs and report any incidents or delays.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service, ensuring passengers feel safe and comfortable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and follow scheduled routes or adjust as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and state regulations for NEMT operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License: Must hold a valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Age Requirement: Must meet the minimum age requirement for commercial driving 21
- Experience in commercial driving, bus driving, shuttle driving, or as a delivery driver or limousine driver is a plus.
- Familiarity with NEMT or paratransit services is advantageous.
- Capability to lift and assist passengers as needed, including operating wheelchair lifts or ramps.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, such as securing mobility devices safely in the vehicle.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate with passengers, dispatchers, and healthcare providers.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Defensive driving or passenger assistance training (PASS).
- DOT Physical
- Knowledge of Local Areas: Familiarity with Hillsborough County roads, traffic patterns, and medical facilities is beneficial.
