What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Worker position at The Wellness Spa?
The person for this position is responsible for inspecting, repairing and maintaining buildings, mechanical equipment, machines, outdoor walkways and thoroughfares for The Wellness Spa, Wellness School and Water Dragon Inn.
Duties include:
- Inspecting the building, grounds, and equipment.
- Handling necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Changing filters, light bulbs, etc.
- Installing equipment and appliances when needed.
- Assembly of retail displays, massage equipment, shelving when needed.
- General daily cleaning and prepping for customers.
- Specialty cleaning or event set up when needed.
- Following local and state building codes.
- Complying with all company safety regulations.
- Keeping a general maintenance log for filters, bulbs, etc.
- Performing minor fixes, such as damage to walls, painting, etc.
- Maintaining grounds, walkways, fountains (gardeners do majority of garden/landscape upkeep).
- Snow removal and salting of walkways in winter months.
- Trash and recycling upkeep.
- Seasonal turnover of displays and décor including outside lighting décor.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as a maintenance person or other similar position.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems (professionals in their field of expertise will be called for anything above basic maintenance of this kind of equipment).
- Experience using hand and electrical tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity, must be able to lift minimum of 40 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent,
Hours: PT position 20-30 hours per week
Salary : $15 - $20
