Description
The Line Cook is responsible for basic food prepping tasks. The main duties of this role include preparing and cooking food in a specific station, cleaning up prep areas, and making sure the kitchen is stocked and organized. The Line Cook may need to operate cash register/ POS system occasionally and will also greet customers.
This position is Part-time, up to 30 hours a week, with the potential of Full-time hours. Availability must be Sunday through Saturday. Tips will be made on top of hourly wage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
- Receive and check orders
- Bake, steam, and cook meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Handle raw meats and fish
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service
- Execute opening and closing procedures
- Monitor inventory levels
- Accommodate guests special requests
- Operate cash register/POS system
- Interact with customers as needed
- Other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read and follow instructions including but not limited to preparing recipes correctly to the standards of the restaurant.
- Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
- Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- May be required work in excessive heat and cold in association with the kitchen environment.
Salary : $14 - $16
