The Assistant Agronomy Manager is responsible for managing the procurement, inventory and sales for the fertilizer business for our Risser locations. He/She will drive new fertilizer sales and be the main relationship manager, in conjunction with the Agronomy Department Manager.

What Your Day Looks Like
The Assistant Agronomy Manager is responsible for managing the procurement, inventory and sales for the fertilizer business for our Risser locations. He/She will drive new fertilizer sales and be the main relationship manager, in conjunction with the Agronomy Department Manager.
- Develop new relationships with prospective customers to drive new business while maintaining best in class service to the current customer base
- Work with Dispatch and Location Managers to schedule deliveries
- Manage Fertilizer Procurement, Inventory and Sales
- Support the department with data to drive Pricing Schedules, Marketing Strategies, Customer Service Initiatives
- Manage Agronomy products such as seed, tanks and miscellaneous retail items
- Manage customer accounts receivable, vendor accounts payable
- Collaborate with manager to develop strategies to increase customers for grain and fertilizer
- Forecast and coordinate inbound fertilizer deliveries for truck and rail
- Provide data analysis and assistance for grain and fertilizer business
- Assist Grain Merchandisers with customer service, buying and scheduling
- Provide relationship management with farmers using agronomy and market knowledge
- Provide support to Red Lion and Turbotville as needed
- Develop an understanding of the core values of the company, and direction the company is moving.
- Bring new ideas to the table that are in line with goals of the business.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment independently, be flexible and multi-task.
- Address errors, problems and complaints within scope of authority
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, high school degree required
- Minimum of 5 years' related experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience required
- Agronomy background or experience required
- Passion to serve in the ag industry is very important and ability to become familiar with seed and fertilizer product
- Valid driver’s license
