Position Summary:
The Quality Supply Coordinator for Nutrify will support a focus on our internal and external quality systems to ensure both compliance with regulatory and customer requirements and to help make improvements based on industry trends and lab data. In this role, you will support the Nutrify leadership team with thorough understanding of quality control and assurance data and technology, testing and auditing documentation, data collection and analysis, quality related process design and improvement, and knowledge transfer. You will provide team leadership and guidance through finding solutions for ingredient supply and quality concerns.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Function as a communicator between Nutrify and TWG Quality for policy creation and updates, ingredient analysis, and items that arise related to ingredients on-site
- Independently work through moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and provide suggested resolutions to management.
- Conduct verification and maintenance of the supply chain and supplier quality systems, hazard analysis and sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, plant environment and finished product as needed.
- Support buyers in quality-related processes and reporting.
- Communicate with key stakeholders, customers, plants, and technical service to resolve product specification differences and propose solutions to management that meet corporate goals for products that fall out of specification.
- Monitor receiving activities and support mill needs around ingredients using internal and external regulatory standards as needed and act as a resource for the business to help resolve issues as they arise in real time
- Define new processes and determine ways to improve and harmonize how information is gathered and used.
- Maintain, and updates Nutrify-related quality policies and procedures
- Be a liaison with WNSIC and Food Safety to partner to achieve the best outcomes for TWG
- Be responsible for monitoring organic ingredients and conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) when appropriate
- Manage the supplier setup approval process.
- Manage the supplier monitoring process.
- Supports the FSVP supplier reviews as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Nutrify organic plan and documentation.
- Ensure proper ingredient documentation is filed and up to date.
- Ensure proper supplier documentation is filed and up to date
- Work with suppliers to gather information through annual information-gathering processes and ad hoc business needs
- Track progress on ingredient approvals, escalating delays in the process as needed
- Support facility inspections and audits as required
- Manage complex systems accurately, timely and consistently
- Ensure deadlines and deliverables are on time, completed as directed and as needed to create the intended value.
Qualifications
- Applicable expertise in food and feed safety regulations and certifications
- Fundamental understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
- Basic understanding of Import regulations
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to understand and work within a purchasing organization by understanding the main components of each area in the company
- Flexibility to changing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- High sense of accountability and follow-through
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Strong skills related to documentation filing and tracking
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Educational background in animal nutrition, chemistry, regulation, food or feed manufacturing preferred
- Experience in supporting ISO related certified programs
- 5 years of experience in animal feed manufacturing, human food or pharmaceuticals production
- Background in feed and ingredient quality standards and feed and food safety programs preferred
- PCQI certification for Animal Feed (must be obtained within 6 months if not already achieved)
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
