We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Laborer to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the smooth operation of our facility by performing general labor tasks, including operating machinery, maintaining the premises, handling customer interactions, grounds keeping, emergency response, and assisting with inventory management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring that the facility runs efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and Move Machinery: Safely operate machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, manual shifting trucks, and other equipment for material handling, moving supplies, and assisting with warehouse operations. Ensure all machinery is well-maintained and report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Facility Maintenance & Upkeep: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the building, grounds, ensuring the facility remains presentable, functional, and safe.
- General Labor Support: Assist in moving and organizing materials, supplies, and inventory. Help unload deliveries and move stock to the appropriate areas of the facility. Prepare equipment and workstations for use on a daily basis.
- Customer Interaction: Greet and assist customers and visitors with professionalism and courtesy. Provide directions, answer questions, and address any concerns to ensure a positive customer experience and maintain a welcoming environment.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and conduct routine safety checks to ensure the facility is free from hazards. Report any potential risks or maintenance issues and follow up on safety inspections and corrective actions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations such as water leaks, spills, or equipment malfunctions. Assist in managing and mitigating risks during emergencies, ensuring safety and minimizing damage.
- Inventory Assistance: Help maintain an organized and accurate inventory by tracking stock levels and assisting with the receipt and organization of supplies. Report inventory shortages or damages to supervisors, and assist with inventory audits and restocking as needed.
- Cleaning: Ensure the general operating area is clean and free of debris in order to maintain presentable and workable operating area.
- Equipment Care and Maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and inspect tools and machinery regularly to ensure proper functioning. Report any equipment malfunctions or need for repairs to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Waste Management: Assist in the proper disposal of waste. Help the facility ensure compliance with local waste disposal regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. Assist with special projects and tasks as directed to support overall operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in general labor, facilities maintenance, grounds keeping, or related field is a plus.
- Ability to safely operate machinery (training provided if needed).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 100 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions.

Work Environment:
This position requires working in a commercial facility with both indoor and outdoor tasks. Exposure to different environmental conditions is expected, including working outdoors in various weather conditions and potentially being exposed to noise and dust.

Pay: $22.00 - $37.00 per hour
