The Housekeeper is responsible for the sanitary, orderly and attractive condition of the Center. General duties include cleaning of assigned areas by washing, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting as needed. Major responsibilities include emptying trash containers, cleaning windows inside and outside, arranging tables and chairs, stocking the supply room, and ensuring adequate supplies are available from vendors. Minor sink and toilet stoppages are unclogged, and maintenance is advised of facility discrepancies found. This person may be required to open and close the facility.
- Cleans assigned area per instructions by washing, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting as needed.
- Uses cleaning supplies and chemicals as directed.
- Keeps assigned areas free from dust by regular high and low dusting.
- Keeps all restrooms in the assigned area clean and sanitized.
- Ensures the area assigned is in a neat, orderly, and prescribed manner.
- Makes sure the storage area for cleaning items is neat and clean.
- Reports any unsafe condition that exists in the assigned area to the supervisor.
- Empties trash containers as assigned.
- Cleans windows inside and outside.
- Unclogs sinks and toilets as needed.
- Assists in preparation for meetings and other functions as asked.
- Responds to changes in the workload schedule as necessary, continually using time in a productive manner.
- Attends department meetings and in-services as required.
