What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST position at The West Texas Rehabilitation Center?
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pediatrics, responsibilities for the Speech Language Pathologist include:
- Administers speech therapy evaluation and treatment procedures.
- Provides a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive communication skills and/or swallowing function.
- Maintain current and accurate documentation.
- Maintain a high level of productivity.
- Reviews patient information and begins initial screening in a timely manner.
- Consults with other departments as needed for proper treatment.
- Sets appropriate long-term and short-term goals with patients and/or parents when appropriate.
- Seeks appropriate guidance regarding questions concerning specific patient care issues.
- Provides education and counseling to patient and family as needed.
- Progression of plan of care with upgrades in skilled services.
- Billing reflects accurate coding of modalities and procedures delivered.
- Maintains good work habits.
- Contributes to the WTRC team.
- Exhibits outstanding customer service.
