Duties
The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all electrical and electronic components associated with production equipment and machinery. Duties Include:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and components on all plant production machinery and equipment, following electrical code, technical manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
- Observe electrical and electronic equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble and develop a repair plan.
- Test malfunctioning or improperly operating components or equipment and facilitate required adjustments or repairs.
- Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electrical components like relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
- Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components like printed circuit boards and programmable controllers.
- Operate programmable controllers to program and operate automated machinery, test for malfunctions, and verify repairs.
- Diagnose and repair faulty hydraulic and pneumatic components on machinery equipment.
- Perform all routine electrical preventative and predictive maintenance duties on all associated mill equipment.
- Communicate directly and professionally with operators about how equipment runs to learn about any problems.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the Planning and Scheduling Departments to ensure all required maintenance and repairs are completed as required.
- Submit work requests and fill out completed work orders to include actions taken, parts used, and man hours consumed.
- Comply with and participate in corporate-wide safety programs, including, but not limited to PPE and lock-out requirements.
- Three years of experience in electrical work or a two-year Technical Degree in industrial electrical, electronics, or related field.
- Willing to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, or kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn and adapt to change.
- Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment.
