We are currently searching for an experienced Forest Regeneration Technician at our Forest Resources Nursery/Seed Orchard facility in Eutaw, AL.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting with operations at The Westervelt Nursery and Orchard Facility to ensure products and services provided are of the highest quality and facilities and equipment are maintained at the highest level of operational readiness. Also, serves to ensure successful reforestation of Westervelt Woodlands during regeneration activities. Over time, as their experience level grows, the Nursery-Orchard Technician will be filling in for the Nursery/Orchard Coordinators as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Associates's degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Horticulture or related field.
- 3-4 years experience in Forestry and Silviculture operations.
- Experience with reforestation.
- Chemical applicators license.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in equipment operation and repair of tractor, bush hog, manlift, well, pump, and irrigation systems.
Preferred:
- Able to obtain CDL.
- Background in growing through forestry, agriculture, or farming.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish.
The base salary range for this position is $54,700 - $82,100. Actual base salary is based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
