The Log Yard Operator will be responsible for operating a knuckle boom loader and traveling crane to load, unload, lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Duties Include:
- Operate front-end loader, knuckle boom loader, and crane under general supervision.
- Inspect loader and crane for safety issues daily.
- Determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
- Complete daily check sheets, track load counts from trucks, and log feed into the mill.
- Unload and load trucks at the work site using a front-end loader and knuckle boom loader.
- Operate hand and foot controls on the crane and loader.
- Perform work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
- Perform as a backup for the crane operator and scale operator as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Willing to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn and adapt to change.
- Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment.
