AquaVie Fitness + Spa Club Group Exercise Instructor

Starting at $17.25 an hour for nonperforming, $40.00 - $55.00 per hour/class

We seeking highly skilled and motivated instructors for Barre and  Spin Group Classes  to  provide group fitness instruction through a variety of entertaining, educational, and fun classes promoting fitness and positive self-esteem in a safe environment. This person must be able to instruct members on basic exercise physiology and coach them to perform exercise techniques safely. This person will have knowledge of all fitness policies and be able to communicate to a diverse group of patrons.

Operational Reports to: Fitness Spa Manager

Essential Functions:

Major areas of responsibility during Teach Time:

• Provide group fitness instruction through a variety of entertaining, educational, and fun classes promoting fitness and positive self-esteem in a safe environment.
• Adhere to class format for style of class scheduled.
• Beginning and ending all classes according to time scheduled.
• Present fitness and wellness related workshops.
• Act in a professional manner by upholding AquaVie Fitness & Spa policies.

Major responsibilities during Non-teach Time

• Arrive 15 minutes prior to class to set-up the room and welcome members.
• Remain 15 minutes after class to answer member’s questions and restore the room to its original condition.
• Provide customer service by assisting members with answers to programming questions, proper equipment usage, exercise demonstrations, and safe exercise techniques.
• Develop fitness classes and wellness related workshops. 
• Maintain current knowledge of fitness equipment, techniques, and exercises.
• Notify Management if equipment needs to be repaired and/or replaced.
• Market and promote AquaVie facilities and programs.
• Includes other duties as assigned by Manager of Fitness Spa or the General Manager.

Spin Instructor Qualifications: 

• Certification: Possess a valid spin instructor certification from a recognized organization (e.g., Schwinn, Spinning, Les Mills RPM, etc.).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Spin instructor, preferably in a luxury fitness or boutique studio setting.
• CPR/AED Certified

Master Instructor Designation:

Group Exercise Instructor that possesses three or more of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Education or related field
• Current group exercise certification as well as certifications in related fields such as personal training, nutrition, and massage.
• 5 years’ experience
• Class attendance to average more than 8 participants per class.

Physical Demands:​

• Ability to perform exercises and movements as demonstrations for clients.
• Ability to safely lift up to 80lbs.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This position requires weekend work.
