What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Server position at The Westgate Hotel?
Our Banquet Servers are skilled in a wide range of event functions with responsibility for making sure the event is well-executed from start to finish. Whether setting up or breaking down the materials, transporting supplies, taking orders, interacting with guests, or anything in between, the Banquet Server makes transactions feel like part of the experience.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Operational Reports to: Banquet Manager
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Provide exceptional guest service to all customers;
- Greet guests and be responsible for accommodating all guests’ needs at the attendance of an event;
- Participate in good communication with guests with questions regarding the menu;
- Deliver food and beverages from staging areas to guests;
- Provide service for buffet, plated, and reception style meal services tin accordance with The Westgate Hotel standards;
- Anticipate guest’s needs and monitor the guests dining experience to ensure satisfaction with food and service;
- Respond promptly and courteously to any requests;
- Assists in setup and breakdown of events as assigned;
- Performs side work to prepare for upcoming events;
- Maintain clean service areas at all times and high standards of safety;
- Maintain a professional and personable appearance;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to solve problems;
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently;
- Organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to work with a team;
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene;
- Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Experience:
- Banquet server with hotel experience 1-2 years required.
- Fine dining restaurant 1 years preferred.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly works in both Indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to move up to 100 lbs., with wheeled assistance.
- Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting or lifting overhead 20-50 or more pounds.
- Physical activities include walking, talking, standing, stooping, hearing, seeing, talking, bending, reaching, fingering, feeling, touching, writing, grasping, handling, stretching, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching up and down, and remain stationary at times throughout work periods.
- Considerable repetitive motion of hands, wrists, shoulders and back is required.
