What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Setup position at The Westgate Hotel?
As a Banquet Set-up you will be responsible for the set up and break down of all banquet functions in timely, friendly and efficient manner in our continue efforts to deliver outstanding guest service. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of all spaces, including back of house. Whether setting up or breaking down the materials, transporting supplies, interacting with guest, or anything in between the Banquet Set-up experience is key to the comfort and safety of our guest.

Reports to: Banquet Manager

- Read all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for upcoming events
- Set up banquet spaces with precision according to BEO instructions and Westgate Hotel standards. This includes setting tables, chairs, and linens; setting silverware, glassware, or meeting supplies; assembling buffet lines, break stations, dance floors, stages, podiums
- Clean up of banquet spaces and service at the end of functions including bussing dishes, removing linens, sweeping/vacuuming/mopping, collecting trash
- Sort and wash dishes, glassware, cookware, utensils, and flatware using commercial dishwasher and triple sink methods
- Dispose of trash, recycling and organic waste in appropriate receptacles
- Break down and store banquet equipment at the end of a given function
- Maintain good organization and cleanliness of back-of-house service areas
- Maintain good condition of banquet equipment
- Ensure all banquet glassware and silverware is clean, polished, and stored in appropriate areas
- Ensure all banquet linens are stored in an organized fashion and avoid creasing as much as possible
- Report any low inventory supplies or shortages to manager or supervisor
- Follow safety and security procedures and rules.
- Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
- Assists other Banquet Personnel when need.
Requirements
- Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time
- Must be able to lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to move loads of up to 150 pounds with the use of wheeled equipment
- Must be able to read Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) printed in English
- Must be detail oriented in executing set up instructions included in BEOs
- Must be able to follow workplace safety standards
Responsibilities:
- Dress Tables in a pleasing manner as set forth in your training manual.
- Have complete knowledge of room set-up and equipment.
- Ensure all items in room are clean and crisp. Pads and pens all match.
- Pay close attention to special orders or instructions of your supervisor.
- Ensure all room sets are pristine. Floor is vacuumed; Linen matches, pads & pens are all the same and are placed in the correct position/direction.
- Ensure that all set-up side work has been completed and Banquet hallways and storerooms are cleaned and organized.
- All Linen has been removed from the floors and taken to laundry.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Up to 1 year of experience in transferrable skill or position; GED or High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to lift minimum of 30lbs. Push pull or move 300lbs, with hardware and buddy system.

Physical Demands:
