What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook II position at The Westgate Hotel?
We are hiring Cooks to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Cook duties will consist of assisting the Executive and Sous Chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. The Westgate hotel is a luxury hotel providing world-class elegance in hospitality . Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Prepare food in accordance with working menus, recipe cards and photos
- Monitor the quality and consistency of all food served from the hot and cold lines
- Coordinate all food orders between station and food servers
- Cut all mise in place and have stations ready before service
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Monitor food rotation
- Report all unsafe conditions immediately
- Responsible for food quality, control and proper plate presentation on all lines
- Assure the special of the day is completed in a timely fashion
- Responsible for food requisitions, inventory/par levels
- Perform the duties of opening and closing your assign station to include stocking and cleaning, proper storage and labeling of all items
- Additional duties as assigned
What we're looking for:
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiar with industry’s best practices.
- Culinary degree or 2-3 years cooking experience.
- Must have Food Handlers Card.
