Job Description
Welcome and assist guests with check-in and check-out, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, responding to inquiries with clarity, and offering information on hotel amenities and local attractions.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, creating a welcoming first impression.
- Facilitate check-in and check-out processes, accurately inputting and retrieving guest information in the system.
- Assign rooms based on guest preferences and availability, ensuring a comfortable stay.
- Generate and issue electronic room keys while discreetly confirming room numbers and rates.
- Provide welcome materials, including room keys, promotional offers, and refreshment access as needed.
- Verify and process credit card authorizations, handle cash transactions, and balance the assigned house bank.
- Accept and record various forms of payment, including vouchers and traveler’s checks, and convert foreign currency at posted rates.
- Manage guest inquiries via phone and in person, delivering prompt and courteous responses.
- Retrieve and distribute mail, small packages, and messages for guests upon request.
- Address guest concerns professionally, researching and implementing effective solutions to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist in resolving issues such as billing discrepancies, noise complaints, and room dissatisfaction while maintaining a calm and professional approach.
- Remain alert and responsive during high-traffic periods and emergency situations, exercising sound judgment.
- Promote HEI Hotels and Resorts, along with brand marketing programs, to enhance guest engagement.
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain availability for scheduled shifts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is a plus.
- Strong numerical skills for handling financial transactions accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities, with a high level of patience and professionalism.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the front office for extended periods.
- Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to accurately input and retrieve data.
- Strong observational skills to identify and respond to emergency situations.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with guests, colleagues, and management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.17 per hour
