What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Aide/Dishwasher position at The Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village?
Position Summary: The Sanitation Aide produces and maintains high sanitation levels for keeping dishware, glass and china clean and safely stored in the kitchen and surrounding areas.
Core Responsibilities:
- Use established guidelines to correctively utilize and maintain dish machine. Wash glasses and dishes in standard dish rack.
- Wash pots and pans only in the pot washer’s area.
- Ensure that all cleaning is performed that is required to keep the kitchen neat and clean at all times; this includes sweeping up broken glass/dishes and mopping up any spills.
- Empty full and heavy trash cans. Make sure they are sprayed and sanitized after each use. Place new trash bags in the container after each cleaning.
- Follow all MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) protocols, as well as Safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties in other areas of Kitchen as assigned, including assisting with plating banquet events when needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
- Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions
- Regular attendance according to established guidelines
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time.
- Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning requirements
- Exert physical effort in lifting, pushing and transporting one hundred (100) pounds
- Work takes place in an environment that can be hot, cold, and/or humid
- Repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability and visual ability
