In our Middle School, you’ll work with colleagues and students who infuse challenge with joy. All eighty-six Middle School faculty are part of Professional Learning Communities that meet four times weekly to design lessons, create assessments, and explore new ideas. Supervisor: Head of Middle School
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, 10 month
Work Hours: Typical hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some weekend and evening work may be required.
Anticipated Start Date: August 1st, 2025
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for a successful candidate.
- Strong academic background in Middle School math and/or related field(s). Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience, a Master’s degree, and a background in differentiated curriculum preferred but not required
- Deep familiarity with the developmental and learning needs of Middle School children
- Proficiency with a range of technologies and the ability to use them to enhance teaching and learning
- The desire to continue learning by reading and implementing ideas from professional journals, attending workshops and conferences, taking courses, and collaborating with colleagues
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teaches four sections of Middle School math, ranging from 6th grade math through Algebra I and Geometry
- Works directly with other Middle School teachers as part of a Professional Learning Community
- Serves as a Middle School faculty member and an advisor to students
- Contributes to the larger school community through coaching or sponsoring other extracurricular programs, including competitive math teams
- Supervises students during lunch, etc., on a rotating basis
- Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to become CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified is required.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
Westminster is a drug-free, smoke/vape-free campus.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the regular business day. Overnight and out-of-area travel may also be required and is associated mainly with planned events, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Driving a Westminster vehicle may be required for this position.
