Overview
The Whiskey Project Group, USA is seeking a Purchasing Manager that has boat manufacturing experience for its Edenton, NC location. The Purchasing Manager will purchase parts and services according to the workorders/production schedule.
Responsibilities
- Purchase parts and services according to the company's policies and procedures
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to contract negotiation and purchase order issuance.
- Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to ensure compliance with contracts.
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Review quality and accuracy of shipments upon receipt.
- Ensure that purchase orders are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Or previous experience as a purchasing manager or qualifying position to be considered.
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, or related software.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong vendor relationships.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on findings.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the marine industry a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
