STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Director of Support Services and Regional Coordination is to provide programmatic oversight to the different teams delivering TWC’s services along the continuum of the housing journey; including but not limited to triaging, intake, prevention and problem-solving, housing location, Intensive Case Management Services (ICMS), Shallow Subsidy Services, and Domestic Violence (DV) coordination and Time Limited Subsidy (TLS) Services. The Whole Child’s housing programs serve primarily the Southeast Region of Los Angeles County, also known as Service Planning Area (SPA) 7, but also the San Gabriel Valley region (SPA 3).
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the direction of the Managing Director of Housing Programs, the Director of Support Services and Regional Coordination ensures TWC Supportive Services and Regional Coordination function as the epicenter of TWC’s housing services, with contractual obligations meet, constant communications and collaboration with other housing departments, and relationships with collocated and partner agencies being stewarded for the benefit of TWC clients. Ultimately, the Director of Support Services and Regional Coordination is responsible for TWC’s success, preventing clients from falling into homelessness and efficiently housing clients in need of a permanent home.
The Director of Support Services and Regional Coordination works Monday – Friday on a hybrid on-site/virtual model with up to two days work from home.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Ensure housing programs are delivered within required scoop of services and TWC mission, vision, and values
· Assure that services are provided in collaboration with applicable funding streams and regulations
· Point of contact for housing leadership to obtain regular client updates to improve outcomes
· Work closely with the Managing Director, Housing Programs to ensure the utilization of system slots and funding across all CES and DHS programs
· Point of Contact for Regional/Domestic Violence Coordination needs
· Address gaps in linkages to services and works with partnering agencies to bridge service gaps
· Provide quarterly training to direct line staff
· Oversee finance and program budgeting in collaboration with Senior Financial Manager and Director of Programs
· Facilitate the annual Homeless Count.
· Lead the Homeless Coalition Meetings
· Provide Individual/group supervision
· Coordinate monthly clinical supervision for ICMS Programing
· Coordinate with housing programs leads to determining the best use of resources to meet contractual outcomes
· Attend the required monthly meetings per our funders’ requests
· Provide quality assurance and complete quarterly client file reviews
· Assist in data collection, participates in desk review and audits
· Conduct weekly snapshot report reviews to ensure agency disallowance cost is maintained to a minimum
· Evaluate staff performance and implement development and succession plans
· Represent TWC at community events and meetings and participate in learning networks related to housing program models
· Aid lead Housing staff to address crisis situations and ensure the Grievance Process adheres to safety and housing practice protocols
· Assure rights of clients are adhered to within policies and guidelines
· Support all existing agency policies, principles, and mission
· Oversee fiscal PQI planning for COA ICMS team
· Maintain confidentiality in matters of agency operation, personnel, and clients
· Other related duties as assigned and approved by the Managing Director Housing Programs
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required
· Bachelor's degree in management or human services field; Master’s degree a plus
· 5 years demonstrated experience implementing housing services in Los Angeles County
· Knowledge of current conditions of the Housing Services industry in Los Angeles County, preferably SPA7 and including the LA County Coordinate Entry System
· Demonstrated capacity to lead diverse and multidisciplinary teams towards a common goal
· Flexible, acute problem-solving skills, and ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Strong ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and manage crisis
· Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment that requires strong multitasking, organization and time management skills and a self-starter mentality
· Mission-driven: strong commitment to children and families, and a willingness to take the steps necessary to assure their well-being
· Effective project management skills
· A creative, out-of-the-box thinker
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· Will require a personal motor vehicle to frequently travel between offices and community events to transport items and supplies
· Occasional evenings and weekends required
· Must have verification of T.B. clearance at the time of employment, to be renewed every year (every 2 years for chest x-rays)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in shelter setting. Noise level is moderate with occasional loud outbursts.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
· Need to move about the shelter premises and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
· Use computer and other office machinery, (i.e., calculator, copy machine and printer)
· Constantly converses with staff and clients
· Occasionally needs to transport materials (toys, books, etc.) weighing up to 50 pounds
