JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Support Staff
LOCATION: Santa Fe Springs
SALARY RANGE: $19-$21 per hour
JOB STATUS: Full time – Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
JOB OVERVIEW:
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Housekeeping Support Staff is to provide a safe environment with high levels of cleanliness, well sanitized and good presentation of all areas of the Safe Families Interim Housing site for eligible clients and families who have become homeless. Targeted population includes children (Birth to age 18) and their families who are at risk of becoming homeless or are currently homeless utilizing a Housing First, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed and Low-Barrier approach.
ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS:
· Report any safety hazards to the Program Manager and/or Director
· Working collaboratively with Facility Coordinator and Maintenance team.
· Sweeping and mopping floors throughout the facility (Units, offices, dining areas and courtyard)
· Debris removal from all areas of the facility including walking areas and sidewalks
· Emptying trash cans and re-lining cans
· Dusting shelves, wiping down high touch areas, cleaning bathrooms, doors, sinks, countertops, washing dishes that may have been left behind and windows
· Cleaning common areas of each unit and supportive service center on the 1st floor.
· Support the preparation of rooms for new participants by cleaning out vacant units.
· Replace units with fresh linens and laundry of linens
· Assist and support staff with light maintenance and furniture replacement as needed
· Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
· Minimum of 1 year of work experience related to providing housekeeping support
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Work is performed at a multi-family unit housing program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Frequently stands, walks and sits
· Regularly uses hands, pushes, pulls, reaches with arms and hands
· Frequently lifts or carries up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
· Frequently works with cleaning supplies
