Dog Groomer

The Wiggle Room is seeking an experienced Dog Groomer, for a part-time position, Wednesdays and Fridays, to join our team. We are a small salon that is rapidly growing! This is a position for a self-starter who likes to work at their own pace. It is a unique set up with a fun team! We do not book aggressive, or overly difficult, dogs. The groomer has a large voice in their day to day operations. Part time position into an eventual full time position is available.

Responsibilities:

• Must be able to independently perform all grooming tasks, including bathing, drying, brushing, de-matting (when humanely applicable), breed-standard cuts, nail trimming, etc.
• Ability to groom a wide variety of dogs breeds keeping current with style trends
• Communication directly with the clients to ensure a understanding of what they are requesting for their groom
• Keep records of grooming details for each visit.
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment, which included but not limited to cleaning the grooming equipment, vacuuming, organization etc
• Answering phone calls in a professional manor, making grooming appointments.
• Must own your own tools/equipment (HV dryers/tables on site)
• Applicant must be reliable and timely

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in dog grooming (at least 1-2 years of qualifying experience)
• Strong knowledge of dog behavior.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
• Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner
• Ability to thrive independently in a salon drama free!

Compensation is 50/50 commission tips. W2 Employee.

Schedule is based on appointments.

Currently we are only looking for someone available on most Wednesdays and Fridays. We are expanding our salon soon and will have more flexibility at that time.
