What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate / Furniture Assembly / Furniture Delivery position at The Wildflower Barn?
We are a quaint little shop packed full of unique items at the edge of downtown New Braunfels. We have everything from rustic pine furniture to scarves, jewelry, vintage signs, as well as seasonal decor, and we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, reliable, detail oriented, able to multitask with minimal supervision, have excellent time-management skills, able to follow instructions for furniture assembly/maintenance, possess a clean driving record, and comfortable driving large vans/trucks for deliveries when required.
As member of The Wildflower Barn team, you will also play a crucial role in providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers helping them discover all the unique surprises throughout our store while still driving sales, promoting merchandise, and maintaining store standards. Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored product recommendations.
- Demonstrate product knowledge through effective product demos, highlighting features and benefits to enhance customer experience.
- Assist in maintaining stock levels, including organizing merchandise on the sales floor and ensuring displays are visually appealing.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations within the store.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to achieving sales targets by actively promoting products and upselling when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor both inside and outside.
- Read and interpret directions to ensure accurate furniture assembly as needed.
- Operate dollies, furniture carts, and other equipment when required.
- Verify the accuracy of delivery orders before leaving the warehouse.
- Load items and ensure all products are properly secured for transport. (Sometimes products are 40 pounds)
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to customers.
- Plan, follow, and or navigate the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues.
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate delivery records.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Sales, Customer Service, or other related fields preferred.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Experience in route driving and navigating various locations is preferred but not required.
- Ability to drive safely in various weather conditions and traffic situations.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects and performing physical tasks related to moving and handling goods.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues effectively.
Qualifications:
- Current TX Driver's License required (or other state equivalent).
- Clean driving record for insurance purposes.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to follow precise instructions for assembly and display of certain items.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
